Customised wooden terrace roofing

By opting for a made-to-measure wooden patio canopy, you get a structure that is perfectly tailored to your space and needs. Making a made-to-measure canopy allows you to make the most of the available area, regardless of its size or shape. This turns the terrace into a functional space where you can enjoy comfort whatever the weather. What's more, personalisation extends not only to the dimensions, but also to the choice of colours and style of finish, making the canopy blend in perfectly with the building facade and surroundings.

Why choose a wooden terrace canopy?

Natural and elegant appearance

For the construction, we use glulam glulam in visual grade SI. This means that the material is carefully selected, has a uniform, smooth surface and is free of visible defects such as cracks or discolouration. It is the highest quality structural timber. We paint the structure in the colour of your choice from the extensive Remmers stain palette to perfectly match your style and surroundings.

Durability for years

Glulam timber is extremely resistant to cracking, deformation and changing weather conditions. This ensures that the structure remains stable for years, regardless of rain, snow or sunshine. What's more, the wood is easy to renovate - in the event of minor damage, you can refresh it without having to replace the entire structure.

Resistance to changing weather conditions

A wooden terrace canopy copes perfectly with moisture, snow loads or UV rays. This means that you can use your terrace all year round without having to worry about its durability.

Functional polycarbonate roof

The lightweight, 16 mm thick multi-chambered polycarbonate is available in clear, milk and smoked brown. The UV outer layer protects against the sun, ensuring comfort even on hot days. The roof, with its slight slope, drains effectively, increasing its functionality.

Features of a wooden roof structure

  • 12 × 12 cm (or 14 × 14 cm) columns made of glulam BSH - solid and robust.
  • High aesthetics and SI visual class - the prettiest structural timber available on the market.
  • A load-bearing roof, ideal for all weathers.
  • Colour matching possible thanks to a wide range of glazes.
  • The canopy is made of multi-chambered polycarbonate, which is extremely resistant to mechanical damage and durable. It will effortlessly maintain the snow cover typical of the Polish climate. The material is easy to maintain. To clean it, simply wipe its surfaces with water and a mild detergent.
  • The joint of the panels is finished with aluminium profiles with gaskets that effectively prevent the structure from leaking.
  • The structure of the aluminium terrace canopy is fixed permanently to the ground with solid concrete blocks.

Why wood terrace roofing?

It is an investment in beauty and functionality for years to come. A wooden terrace canopy not only protects you from the sun and rain, but also creates a unique atmosphere that invites you to relax and spend time with your loved ones.

What are the differences between wooden and aluminium patio roofing?

Wooden canopies offer a natural and warm look that blends in perfectly with the garden and house facade. BSH timber is durable, easy to renovate and environmentally friendly. Aluminium, on the other hand, is lighter and does not require painting, but can be less visually appealing for those who appreciate natural materials.

What are the limitations on the size of a wooden canopy?

There are no rigid size restrictions, as we make each canopy to order. For very large structures, we can use additional reinforcements to ensure stability.

Does a polycarbonate roof allow light through?

Yes, the multi-chambered polycarbonate roof lets light through, making the space under the canopy bright and welcoming. You can choose a transparent version, a milky version for diffused light or a smoky brown version for more shade.

Is BSH wood resistant to pests?

Yes, BSH wood is treated with a special treatment that increases its resistance to pests such as woodworm and wood-feeding insects. Additional surface impregnation with Remmers stains provides complete protection.

Is timber roofing suitable for non-standard shaped terraces?

Yes, we make made-to-measure canopies, so they can even be adapted to non-standard shapes such as corner or oval terraces.

What are the costs of a wooden terrace canopy?

The cost depends on the size, type of roof and finish of the structure. We price each roof individually to match your needs and budget

Can the canopy be fitted with a drainage system?

Yes, our timber canopies are equipped with a drainage system to ensure that rain is effectively channeled away from the roof, keeping the space under the canopy dry and functional.

Does a wooden terrace roof need impregnation?

Yes, the glulam is already protected at the production stage, but for extra protection and aesthetics, we paint the structure in the colour of your choice from the Remmers range of varnishes. Regular refreshing of the protective coating (every few years) will ensure a long life for the wood.

Is the construction of the BSH timber roof resistant to moisture?

Yes, BSH timber is glued in layers, which increases its resistance to moisture and changing weather conditions. An additional coating of varnish protects the wood from water soaking.

Can a wooden canopy covered with polycarbonate withstand snow loads?

Yes, the timber structure and multi-chambered polycarbonate roof were designed with the Polish climate in mind. They can withstand heavy loads, including heavy snow cover.

Can lighting be installed under a canopy?

Yes, the wooden construction makes it possible to install lighting, which allows you to create a cosy atmosphere and enjoy the terrace in the evening as well.

Can a timber canopy be extended with side walls?

Yes, the following can be added to the structure sidewallse made of external blinds made of wood or aluminium. External blinds provide effective protection against wind and moisture and additionally shade the space under the canopy. You can freely adjust them by opening or closing the boards/lamellas.
