How to finish decorative palettes?

1. Oiling
   Oiling gives your furniture a deeper colour and protects the wood from damage and moisture. You can use linseed, olive or walnut oil and a soft cloth for oiling.
2. Waxing
   Waxing adds gloss and protects the wood from scratches. Use beeswax or synthetic furniture wax for waxing. After applying and waiting, it is a good idea to wipe the whole thing down with a cotton cloth.
3. Varnishing
   Varnishing protects the wood effectively against damage and gives it a smooth, glossy surface. When varnishing, use clear or coloured varnish. Be sure to choose the right brush and paint in the direction of the grain for the best effect.
4. Painting
   Painting gives your furniture colour and style to match your interior or garden décor. Use acrylic paints or oil paints to paint wooden pallets. The former dry faster and you can use ordinary water to wash your tools. Oil-based ones will give a more durable coating, but require a little more time to apply and dry.

What do I paint my pallet furniture with?

The choice of finishing method depends on the effect you want to achieve.

1. Acrylic paint - this paint is easy to use and readily available. It is suitable for painting wood and allows you to achieve a smooth finish. You can also add pigments to achieve the desired colour. It is extremely friendly to work with and you can remove accidental dirt around it with water.
2. Oil paint - this paint is definitely more durable than acrylic paint, but it is more difficult to paint with, and it takes some practice to apply. Remember: oil paint takes a long time to dry.
3. Stain - allows the wood to retain its natural appearance while adding colour and protection. The stain is easy to use and can be applied with a brush or sponge. It dries quickly, so you need to work efficiently and with concentration.
4. Varnish - this is a good choice if you want high gloss and durability for your furniture. Varnish can be applied by brush or spray. It requires more drying time than acrylic paint.

IMPORTANT: The pallets are ready to paint right away. You don't need to clean and sand them to make the paint adhere well and last. We have already done that for you.
