External blinds are the perfect solution for terraces, balconies, pergolas, carports, garbage bins or fences. They are aesthetically pleasing and durable. They provide excellent protection from various atmospheric conditions and prying eyes. They give buildings a designer, elegant character. Depending on the needs, they may be movable or may be a louvre panel with boards mounted permanently at an angle.
Advantages of external blinds
External blinds add lightness and multifunctionality to the development. What else do they bring to the development:
- They give it an interesting character,
- are shelter from the wind, sun or neighbours' gaze,
- movable shutters will make the use of the terrace or pergola more pleasant on cold and hot days and significantly extend the outdoor season,
- Shutters can be installed either both vertically and horizontallywhich allows the appearance of the space to be modified,
- louvre panels are ideal for fencing and shed walls,
- may be from wood, aluminium or composite,
- are durable and easy to maintain,
- not difficult to assemble yourself.
External moving blinds or louvre panels?
ShuttersThe movable external blinds are ideal for those areas that you need to cover and uncover periodically. Where there should be ventilation and access to light. It is worth using them for the development of a terrace, balcony or pergola. You can use them to enclose entire walls or just parts of them.Â
Blind panels look like horizontal shutters, but their boards are mounted at a fixed angle and are stationary. They can be a great addition to built-in shutters - where you don't need them to open and close. On their own, they will work perfectly well as fixed walls for a pergola, garbage shed or carport.Â
External blinds in wood or aluminium?
It is well known that both wood and aluminium have their advantages. So what to choose? The choice usually depends on your budget and the aesthetics of the development.
Wooden blinds They naturally have the warmth and beauty of natural materials. They will fit in with virtually any building character. They are also less expensive. However, they do require periodic maintenance in addition to regular cleaning.
Aluminium blinds They give the building a modern, cool character. They are durable and resilient and require no maintenance, apart from infrequent cleaning. However, they are slightly more costly than wooden blinds. For those undecided, we have a Solomon solution: wood blinds. They combine the durability of aluminium, because they are made of it, with the beauty of wood. Their covering perfectly imitates wood and is almost indistinguishable.Â
External blinds or facade blinds
External blindsAs we wrote above, they are mainly used for outdoor development. They are perfectly suited to terraces and balconies. In contrast facade blinds are intended to fulfil the function that shutters once did. It is protective and insulating. Façade shutters for windows are intended to provide thermal protection for the building, noise protection and privacy. They are not suitable for a typical building. And usually their functionality takes precedence over aesthetics. They have a completely different function: they only cover and enclose windows and doors in the façade of a building.Â
External blinds for pergola development
These types of blinds are ideal as pergola building. They will create an atmosphere, shield or uncover the pergola when you need it. With the built-ins, you can use it for longer than just the short Polish summer season. It will also be a nice place to relax with the family or have an evening meeting with friends. You don't have to worry about the wind or the harsh sun. That's why it's a good idea to enclose it with blinds.
They are also perfect for other types of development. A terrace or gazebo sheltered by louvres is an excellent choice. A shed, rubbish bin or carport can be covered with louvre panels. They will look great. And you can also let climbing plants grow over them if you want.

External blinds and louvre panels are our speciality. We have proprietary installation solutions and a wide selection of materials and colours.
Our handles for moving blinds OpenUpSystem They are made of polypropylene with the addition of glass fibre. This makes them durable and resistant to temperature changes. They are easy to install and have 5 colour optionsThe fittings are available in a variety of materials, including wood and aluminium. They are compatible with boards or fins of different materials: both wood and aluminium.
Skossa fixings For the louvre panels we have a choice of 3 colour versions. They are very easy to assemble and allow the boards to maintain an even bevel. We have boards for louvre panels from 100 cm to 300 cm in length. If you choose boards longer than 200 cm, you will need a centre mountwhich will ensure the stability of the structure.
Wooden boards for moving blinds we have with pines and larch. They may be natural or painted in a variety of colours - up to 17 possibilities to choose from. Aluminium laths may also be unpainted or painted in any colour according to the RAL chart. We also have beautiful woodgrain slats in 22 colours.
All boards and laths are sold in a variety of dimensions. Wooden from 40 cm to 110 cm, with the dimension of each slat being 9.8 cm × 2 cm. Aluminium ones from 100 cm to 250 cm, with a slat dimension of 9.9 cm × 1.95 cm.

What does OUS stand for?
OUS is the abbreviation for OpenUpSystem - a mechanism for external blinds for the construction of terraces, balconies, gazebos and sheds. The mechanism for blinds consists of a set of OUS brackets (left+right). Each bracket is equipped with 6 movable sockets for boards/lamellas.Â
What colours are available for the handles of external moving blinds?
We have five colours of handles for the mobile unit: RAL 8024 Light brown RAL 8016 Dark brown RAL 9005 Black RAL 9003 White RAL 7016 Anthracite
What are the OUS brackets for mounting external/terrace blinds made of?
OUS handles are made of plastic for outdoor use.
What do I need to install the handles?
Can OUS handles be combined with each other?
Of course. By combining them together, you will gain a taller build.
Are there clips included to connect the handles?
Yes, there are clips in each kit to connect the handles together. The clips are used to connect the narrow handle guides - those visible from the inside of the bodywork.
Do all moving blinds have to work together?
Not necessarily. Each fixed bracket can be positioned independently of each other (some boards open, some closed). All that is needed is not to connect the narrow guides with clips.
Can the handles for OUS movable blinds be shortened?
What opening mechanism do OUS blinds have?
Manual. The blinds are opened/closed by hand. Alternatively, you can purchase a special metal handle in black from our shop, which you can attach to one of the boards or slats.
Are there handles included to open the blinds?
No, the handle must be purchased separately.
