Adjusting the fence clearance - step by step

You can adjust the clearance between the boards in two ways. The first is use of scales with a range from 1 to 5 visible on the mount. Setting the spacing of the fixings to the low values on the pitch indicator results in the boards being positioned densely, close together, with no visible gaps. In contrast, spacing the fixings according to pitch indicator 4- 5 increases the distance between the boards. 

The second method of regulation is use of boards of different widths. As standard, boards with a minimum width of 10 cm are recommended for Skoss fixings. Using wider boards, up to 15 cm, reduces clearance, even when the distance between fixings is set at 5. Wider boards in a louvre fence give the effect of a more uniform and less transparent barrier. This is ideal for those seeking greater privacy. If you want a compromise between an aesthetically pleasing appearance and a dense plot cover use boards 12 cm wide or wider.

• Increased ground clearance -  A fence with larger clearances. An advantageous solution if you are on a tight budget or want to maximise sunlight.
• Dense setting  - The setting minimises the clearances between the boards, providing a solid barrier and increasing the sense of intimacy.

Remember For boards longer than 180 cm it is necessary to add centre mount for each pair of base mounts. This will ensure the stability of the structure.
